Odessos Urban Winery, Riesling Venchan 2022

Odessos Urban Winery was founded in 2016 by brothers, Georgi and Vladislav Vankovi. After travelling the world and working in some of the best vineyards in New Zealand, Australia and Chile, the brothers began making wine in their native Bulgaria, with the goal of shining a light on the Black Sea Coast region. Riesling Venchan 2022 is taken from a single vineyard near the village of Venchan, in the wider Varna region. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged for 3 months on their fine lees and for one year in bottle prior to release. A nose of lime, grapefruit zest, green apple and a hint of petroleum (which we love in a Riesling); the palate is vibrant, fresh; with a medium body and bright acidity. A great pair with Asian cuisine.
